Living A Full Life

From the very beginning, Journey Found has been, and remains, a family-founded, person-centered organization. Adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, Autism, and other intellectual challenges who live with us enjoy a level of safety, security, and support that allows them to create their happiest life.

Home Safety & Technology Solutions

Cognition and physical abilities are different for each person with intellectual or developmental disabilities or Autism. A person’s home environment can either be helpful or challenging to them.  Over time, new safety concerns may arise and environmental modifications can have a positive impact.  Technology solutions can increase safety, engagement, and help families coordinate care.

Journey Found can assist with home safety and technology assessments and helps families find solutions to maximize safety and independence for those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities or Autism in their own home.

Daily Living & Care

Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can lead rich and fulfilling lives. They can travel to work, maintain friendships, and stay involved with their religious communities. Professional caregivers can provide the extra support adults with disabilities may need to participate fully in activities of their choosing.

Caregivers offer help and instruction with meal preparation, transportation to and from errands, assistance with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living, including finding appropriate clothing for specific functions and events.

Unique Strengths

We know that every person with intellectual or developmental disabilities has their own unique strengths and the potential to truly shine. At Journey Found, we work with every person served to identify and nurture these strengths. We help people living with intellectual or developmental disabilities or Autism, and their families and care-givers, to see the special qualities they can offer the world. We focus on respect and dignity, treating each individual as a whole person.

Our Community-Based Supports assist adults in individualized pre-vocational, vocational, recreational, and/or retirement enrichment activities.

Pre-Vocational & Vocational Services

Staff may work to support adults in individualized pre-vocational, vocational, recreational, and/or retirement enrichment activities. Supports are offered up to 30 hours per week and may be based out of the person’s home, in the community, or at the Journey Found office. These supports are provided 1:1 or in a small group, with no more than four people with one staff person.

Behavioral Health

The Journey Found team is committed to the pursuit of excellence and innovation. We work hard to implement the highest standards in behavioral therapies, rehabilitative services and residential care.

We continuously educate our staff about best practices for intellectual or developmental disabilities and autism care, creating a space where creativity and innovation are encouraged and rewarded.

“The staff at Journey Found not only provide superb care, but loving kindness and concern.”
